Neutrals for Spring with Impressions Boutique

IMG_2411
IMG_2409

I am craving a spring vacation and I know I'm not alone! Today I shared a try on from Impressions Boutique and each outfit is perfect for a beach trip! Impressions Boutique has the cutest pieces right now, I can't stop adding to the cart. This new collection is called, Chic Escape!

My first look with Impressions Boutique is this gorgeous tie-dye tunic, the Dreamscapes Waffle Knit Tunic Top in Mocha and The Rowe Shorts in Mocha.. This tunic is a gorgeous waffle knit material that looks adorable tucked into shorts but also would look great with white denim. I am wearing a medium in the tunic and it fits oversized, which I love! I am wearing a medium in the shorts as well! I finished off the look with a straw hat and bag.

IMG_3816
IMG_2386

This next look is SO adorable. The top, the Social Season Shift Top in Birch and the Always in Fashion Smocked Shorts in White pair perfectly together! The shirt is an oversized fit in a birch color that is so perfect for spring and straw hats! The shorts are flowy yet so flattering. They sinch around the waist for a fun twist. I am wearing a medium in both the shirt and the shorts. I cannot wait to wear this at the beach in a few months. A look that is comfortable but also chic and put together!? Yes please.

Head to Impressions Boutique to shop all their new arrivals. Let me know what your favorites are! I'm currently eyeing all their cute denim shorts! (so cute and at such a great price). You can use my code JESSW15 to save at checkout. Happy shopping girls! Thanks for reading!

Spring Transitional Looks with Aria Rose

IMG_1910

Who else is itching for Spring?! I know we have a bit of a ways to go until Spring is officially here, but I am making sure my closet is ready. I'm particularly working on adding transitional spring looks to my closet so I can wear them now and later!

I'm thrilled to be sharing a look today from one of my favorite boutiques, Aria Rose. Aria Rose is a female owned business and features so many adorable items at a great price! They have a store in Florida that looks soo dreamy as well as a website where I do my shopping from!

IMG_3036

For my look today, I am sharing this gorgeous rose pink midi dress with this perfect pink flannel! This look is my favorite! I love wearing midi dresses with a flannel around the waist. I think it is so flattering and can be dressed up and down. To make this a transitional style for spring, I can easily wear the flannel over top of the dress to keep warm. The whole look looks great with booties for now but will also be so cute with sandals or sneakers.

I am wearing a medium in this midi dress and it fits perfectly! It is stretchy and made of the best fabric! I know I am going to live in this dress all spring and summer long. I'm wearing a small in the flannel and I think it's my favorite flannel ever...a pink flannel?! Yes, please! It also looks super cute paired with denim and a white t-shirt or bodysuit.

IMG_1918

How would you style these pieces!? Leave me a comment below! Linking my favorite items from Aria Rose below. Happy shopping girls! Have a wonderful week!

Loudoun’s New BBQ Spot: Black Hog BBQ

IMG_1963

Happy weekend friends! I hope you all are having the best weekend! Our area is expecting a snow storm tomorrow, so went on a little adventure out of the house today! We went to go try a new local restaurant, Black Hog BBQ, and it was so fun! Everything from the atmosphere, the staff, the location, and the food was amazing.

Black Hog BBQ is a new place to eat in Ashburn, Virginia. I'm going to make a very bold statement and say that it is the best place for BBQ around. They know what they are doing when it comes to BBQ. Their meat is smoked daily so everything tastes so fresh and delicious! The Black Hog near us just opened a few weeks ago, but they actually have four other locations in Maryland if you are local to Maryland!

IMG_3249

We both loved our meals so much...and so did Andrew! I got the Carolina Chopped pork, slaw, and cornbread, with a side of mac and cheese. The pork was perfect- so flavorful. And the mac and cheese!! OH MY GOSH. We are mac fans over here and this one was the best! Tyler got the ribs and they were just as delicious. I already cannot wait to go back again to try the brisket!! I've heard its incredible.

IMG_1980

Here is the link to their menu for the Ashburn location if you are interested in trying!

As for safety, we felt very safe at Black Hog. Everyone had face masks on, tables were closed off for social distancing, and everything was so clean and sanitized. You can also do carryout and curbside pick up if you would like! To all my local friends, be sure to check them out! Let me know what you try! 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Mauve Faux Suede Fringe Jacket from VICI

IMG_0424 3
IMG_0416 2
IMG_0392

Happy 2021! How is everyone feeling about the new year? When January hits, I feel like I'm instantly ready for Spring clothes and adding color back into my wardrobe. I started with this gorgeous jacket from VICI. This is the Walford Cropped Fringe Faux Suede Jacket in Mauve. I am in a small and I love the fit. It looks stunning over this white thermal top and black high rise denim.

The white thermal is the Breckenridge Thermal Contrast Top in White and I'm wearing the small. This thermal is a closet must! It can be worn dressed up like I have here, but also worn casually. It is so soft. For the jeans, I am wearing the Keen High Rise Button Skinny in a size 7. These jeans are really flattering and beautifully made. I think these run a little large, so if you like a tighter fitting jean, size down one.

As for accessories, I added my favorite belt from VICI to give the whole look a Western vibe. For shoes, I wore the Britt Faux Suede Heeled Bootie in Camel. These are stunning booties! So great for a date night. For my purse, I am wearing the Highland Bag in Tan. This bag is such a beauty! It will go with basically every outfit and fits so much. For jewelry, I am wearing the Billie XL Chain layered with the Bamboo Initial Necklace. Both necklaces are such great quality and they look so beautiful layered together.

As always, an all VICI outfit makes me feel so great. Their clothes are great quality and fit so well. You can use my code, JESSICAW20 to shop and save! Thank you for reading girls!

My Favorite Hair Items in 2020

IMG_0109
IMG_0124

What a year 2020 has been! I have rounded up my favorite hair items that I have purchased this year and I will continue to purchase them into the new year. These products have transformed my hair and have finally given me confidence in my hair! Also- full disclosure, I bought a halo extension this year from Hidden Crown and wear it often. It is the best! I wear the color #60/8. Okay now back to my favorite hair products of 2020!

First, let's talk about shampoo. I use this shampoo for my blonde color and this shampoo for hair health. Both shampoos are by the brand, Kerastase, and they are incredible! Kerastase products have completely transformed my hair. The purple shampoo I use twice a week and it keeps my hair the blonde I like it to be! After shampooing, I use this conditioner and I credit it to my hair actually growing!

After washing, I apply this leave in heat protectant for blondes. I let my hair dry about 70% (sometimes I sleep on it wet), and then I apply a blow dry cream that leaves my hair so soft after blow drying. I can't recommend this cream enough! I apply a small amount on my hands and gently scrunch it through my hair. Then, I use my favorite hair dryer I have ever had. The Revlon styler is amazing, but you have to use it on hair that is almost air dried and you should use a heat protectant. It is very powerful and gets very hot. I have used it before on hair that is pretty wet and it made my hair a little frizzy. So, I have found it best to be used on almost dry hair! My hair dries very curly and when I use this I can blow it out completely straight! Best money spent.

Once my hair is blown out, I apply this oil just to the ends. This oil can also be applied to wet hair or to tame flyaways. I love it because it is lightweight so it doesn't weigh down my hair! It really helps give a smooth blown out look.

My last favorite hair find of 2020 has been this curling iron that is around $15 and on prime! It is the best! It's perfect for giving you light bouncy waves. I use this and just put a few curls throughout and it lasts for about two days before I wash! This curling iron is especially great for curling my extensions too.

And that's all for my hair related favorites from this year! What have been your favorite hair products this year?! Leave any recommendations below!

Thanks for reading.

Jess

New Years Eve Look With Sequin Joggers

IMG_9994
IMG_9995

Can you believe Christmas has come and gone?! I am SHOCKED how fast it went by. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I think this year might have been our best Christmas yet, simply because of Andrew and the pure joy in his face all day. Now that Christmas is over, we have another exciting holiday approaching fast...New Years Eve! Goodbye 2020! Hello 2021!

This year, we don't have any plans, but we will still make the most of it while home. The look I am sharing today is a gorgeous, comfy, outfit that you can wear while ringing in the new year at home! Of course, you can also dress it up if you have any fun plans!

First, let's talk about these joggers. Sequins joggers are just my dream and these are incredible. The color, the comfort and the fit of them, could not be better. I am wearing a small and they are pretty over sized. I am typically a medium in bottoms, so I would say to size down in these! You could also style these with a black bodysuit and strappy heels.

Next, this gorgeous white sweater is my new favorite sweater in my closet. I am so glad I finally grabbed this sweater. It is so beautiful in person and I know I can wear it so many times. It is on sale right now for less than $50, so if you have been eyeing, now is the time to grab! I'm wearing a small in this and I think it fits true to size. I plan to wear this all winter with jeans, sweaters, and of course these fun joggers! It comes in a bunch of great colors too.

How do you like to dress for New Years?! Do you like to dress up or down? I will link everything below in case you are interested. Thank you for reading!

Ivory Snakeskin Dress Styled Two Ways from VICI

IMG_9396
IMG_9399
IMG_9375

This gorgeous dress needed an entire blog post dedicated to it because I am just blown away by it! This dress is the Tricks Snake Print Boho Dress and I am in the XS. So it's no secret that snakeskin is one of my favorite prints (going on three years now- how?!) but when it comes to a light ivory snake print?! I am just obsessed! It's so neutral but chic at the same time.

I have styled this dress two ways and I am not sure which way I love more! For the first look, I just belted the dress with the Vista Double Buckle Belt in gold. This belt is the perfect belt for pulling in dresses around your waist. the fit is so good and I love the look of it. I think it helped the dress really come together for a flattering fit. I added the Rocky Mountain Hat in beige because I just can't resist a beige hat and it went perfectly with this dress. Also, you will not believe the price of this hat...with my discount it comes to only $23! (I also grabbed this hat in black for a different outfit and both are so great.) I finished the look with ivory colored booties, the Sloane Croc Embossed Heeled Bootie. These booties are so sleek and cute. I think they can be worn with many different outfits, but they look especially cute with this maxi dress! For jewelry, I am wearing a chunky gold chain and a dainty compass necklace. The layered look really completes the whole outfit.

IMG_9417
IMG_9217

The second way I styled the dress makes for a great work outfit or a way to wear the dress during colder weather. I added an ivory chunky turtleneck over the dress and tucked it into the same belt from earlier! I love this sweater so much! This sweater is the Ilana Cable Knit sweater in Light Sand. I am wearing a small and it fits perfectly over the dress! Now I could easily wear this dress to work in the winter and stay warm and cozy!

Which way was your favorite?! Be sure to head to my stories for two adorable outfit ideas from Vici! You can use my code JESSICAW20 to shop. Thanks for reading girls!

December Looks With VICI

IMG_7948
IMG_7934

Happy December! How is that possible!? We are days away from Christmas and I am not ready!! Are you??
Today I am sharing a fun try on on my Instagram with three casual looks from VICI. I thought it would be easy for you to shop if I shared everything in the blog with links to each item! You can also use my code, JESSICAW20 for 20% off your purchase. If you have not shopped from VICI before, I so encourage you to try! They are such an incredible brand and they have the best quality and style of pieces for all seasons. The winter styles they have right now are some of the best I have seen. Everything is SO gorgeous!
For my first look, I am wearing the Wanna Be Yours Colorblock Knit Sweater and the Dani Distressed High Rise Denim. This sweater looks SO good with these jeans and these jeans are absolutely my new favorite pair of jeans. They fit SO good. They are a true mom style jean and do not have stretch. Get your true size. I finished this look with the Colleen Heeled Bootie in Light Grey. These booties are stunning! They remind me of Steve Madden but so much cheaper!

IMG_8059
IMG_8056
IMG_8031

This next look is my FAVORITE! Possibly my favorite look from VICI of all time. This sweater, the Above All Fuzzy Turtleneck, is to die for and a must for this winter. It is as soft as it looks and I feel like I could wear it so many ways! Here I have it paired with the most flattering pair of black denim, the Plural High Rise Button Front Skinny jeans. Then to finish the look, I have the Tatum Heeled Scrunch Boot in Ivory Snake. Y'ALL!! These boots are incredible! They are even prettier in person. I am obsessed! I am wearing a small in the sweater, size 28 in jeans, and size 9 in the shoes. Everything fits true to size!

IMG_8073
IMG_8082

This last look is such a comfy loungewear look that can be dressed up or down! I love all black for lounge look because it's flattering but also very chic. For this look I am wearing the Beauty Sleep Knit Top with the Beauty Sleep Pocketed Wide Leg Knit Pants. I paired this comfy look with some adorable sneakers! These sneakers are SO cute! They are the Walk Away Faux Suede Leopard Sneaker. I am wearing a medium in both the top and bottom and an 8.5 in the sneakers!
For all of the looks, I added two gorgeous necklaces. The rope looking one is the Marrin Costello Rope Chain necklace. The pendant one is the Gorjana Compass Coin necklace. Both necklaces really add a level of glam to all looks and are pieces that can be worn daily. If you shop you will have to let me know what you pick! You can use my code JESSICAW20 at check out!

White Puff Sleeved Bodysuit by ASTR The Label

IMG_6546

This bodysuit needs an entire blog post dedicated to it. It is that good! This bodysuit is from ASTR the Label and is a statement piece. It is a bit of a splurge, but I think it is something that you can keep in your closet for years to come. It is also incredibly flattering. I'm all about finding pieces that make you feel good and this is it! This is a brand I adore and have worn for awhile. Their pieces are feminine, classic, and the best quality.

I am in a medium and I would say it fits true to size. Today, I'm going to style this bodysuit two ways, the first way to style it is with a classic pair of denim.

IMG_6550

My favorite way to wear this bodysuit is with a classic pair of denim. The bodysuit feels very dressy and so pairing it with jeans makes it feel more casual. I think the whole look with jeans is just very chic and sassy. These jeans are the perfect wash for this bodysuit and the fit is perfect! I finished the look with my favorite white booties, but it would also look great with snakeskin booties.

IMG_6561

A more dressed up way to wear this bodysuit is with a suede skirt and knee high boots. This is such a great look for a night out to dinner, Thanksgiving look, or a holiday event. This look is so classic and chic! This suede skirt looks so good with the bright white of the bodysuit, but you could also pair it with a plaid skirt, tweed skirt, or leather skirt. I mean it when I say the possibilities are endless with this pretty bodysuit! So versatile.

Which style do you like better? With jeans or a skirt? Personally I love it with both so much! For practicality reasons, I think I will wear it with jeans more. I will link everything below! Thanks for reading 🙂

Jess

Comfiest Loungewear from Aerie

IMG_4100
IMG_4095

I cannot believe I am just now trying out Aerie's leggings and sweatshirt. I'm literally shocked that I have been missing out on these for so long!?! HOW! As I am writing this blog post, I have on both the leggings and the sherpa sweatshirt and I just feel so very cozy. This comfy outfit has instantly put me in a better mood.

Let's first talk about the leggings. I ordered a medium short and when I first took them out of the package I was very worried- they looked tiny! Do not let that first perception of them stray you away! I put them on and was seriously AMAZED by the material and the stretch of them. They fit like a glove and come up so nice and high around the waist. I can imagine these are also very comfy while pregnant because of the incredible stretch. I now want every color and think I may order another pair because they are currently 30% off!

Next, this sherpa sweatshirt. I think I will probably live in this all fall and winter. It is so soft!! I feel like I am wearing a blanket! It is also very oversized. I got a medium but definitely could have sized down to a small or even XS. I am going to keep the medium because I love an oversized fit. Just makes me feel that much cozier! This sweatshirt is also 30% off right now.

If you order a pair of these leggings and try them let me know! I am obsessed and ready for my second pair! Don't miss out on this 30% off sale! I will link some of my favorites below. Thanks for reading 🙂 Have the best night!

Sweater Dresses for Fall

IMG_3407
IMG_3406
IMG_3405

It's the best season ever- sweater dress season! I am obsessed with a good sweater dress! Each year I stock up on some favorites and wear them nonstop. They are the best because we can wear them now when it isn't too cold, but then also wear them again in the winter with tights as it gets colder! Sweater dresses are also super bump friendly (this one I have on was one I wore throughout my whole pregnancy last winter)!

The sweater dress I have styled today is styled very casually with a hat, bag and taupe boots. This outfit makes me feel so happy- it's comfortable, girly, and easy. This dress comes in multiple colors and fits true to size! I'm thinking I need the khaki color of this dress now! The best part is...it's on prime shipping! Can't beat that!

Another way to style this pretty white sweater dress is by putting a poncho over it. A poncho over a sweater dress really takes the dress to a more elevated look. This poncho would look great with the dress and knee high suede boots. I think I will be styling that look very soon. I have found some other adorable (and affordable) sweater dresses that I will link up below.

Thank you for reading 🙂

Target Dresses: My Favorites

IMG_2483

You guys. I cannot get over Target and their clothing items right now. It's becoming a problem! Everything is SO cute and affordable and they are having sales constantly! Some of the items they have right now for fall are so similar to pieces I have seen by designers for much higher prices. Although Target has cheaper prices, they still have such great quality of the clothes- which I love.
Today, I want to share this new dress I grabbed from Target and my favorite way to style it. I got this dress in a size small and am so happy with the fit! If I were pregnant, I would love to wear this dress because I can imagine it would be so cute with a bump! Here, I have it styled with a chambray top around my waist. It would also be super cute with flannel around the waist or a jean jacket/ blazer. The possibilities are endless! This dress comes in three other colors and I have almost convinced myself that I need the black too! This dress is on sale today for only $19.99! Y'ALL RUN AND GRAB THIS! I can't believe the price for the quality! How would you style this dress?

Styling a Plaid Poncho

IMG_2934
IMG_2935

Fall is finally here and I am ready for it! My closet is on its way to getting ready. One item I just purchased for this fall is this stunning plaid poncho from Abercrombie & Fitch. It has tans and greys in the plaid and it is made of the best material. The second I took it out of the packaging I knew this was going to be a go to piece for me this fall. I love having a beautiful poncho for fall and even into winter because I can wear it so many ways.
The first way I would style this poncho is how I have it in the pictures. I have it paired with a bodysuit and vegan leather skirt from Abercrombie & Fitch. I wear a large in the bodysuit and a medium in the skirt. I think the skirt runs a little large around the waist but it is a great length. I would finish this look off with either knee high boots or booties and even a hat!

IMG_3080

The next way to style this poncho would be with this stunning white midi sweater dress. This is another favorite piece for fall- so versatile! This would be so easy to wear to work and then even to wear out after if you needed to! This poncho would also look great with a black or gray midi dress.

IMG_3089

This final way of styling the poncho might actually be my favorite! I feel like I always resort to a more casual look and this one is it! I love the white plaid poncho paired with the same bodysuit from look one and a pair of black jeans (old- linking similar). I love this look to wear on SO many occasions.

What was your favorite way of styling the poncho? How would you style it yourself? I'm already thinking I might need to wear this at Thanksgiving! Thanks for reading 🙂

Fall Looks with Wild Fable from Target

I am so excited to share with you all two adorable looks from Target's Wild Fable line! If you have not checked out the Wild Fable line yet...you are missing out. Seriously! I have been shopping this line since it came out a few years ago and have loved every item. The items are trendy and so fashionable, but at the best possible price point. Personally, when I am buying trendy outfits, I love to purchase items at good price points. Target is the best go to spot for finding a full outfit at the best price.

The first look I have to share with you all are these adorable overalls and white tee! I was so pleasantly surprised with this look. These overalls are beyond comfortable on and are so perfect for any daily wear! I am wearing the small and would say they fit oversized (I am typically a medium). I paired the overalls with this cute fitted white tee (only $8). I am in the medium in the tee, so it fits true to size! The overalls would also be so cute with a tank or even long sleeve as it gets colder out. We are going to a pumpkin patch in a few weekends and I cannot wait to wear these.

IMG_1763
IMG_2050

Overalls/ White Tee

The second look I have from Wild Fable has been a huge hit already- this flannel top. This is the flannel for fall. It comes in three other colors (I am obsessed with the green) and fits true to size. I am wearing the medium. Not only is this flannel super soft, it is also so versatile. I have it paired with a front tuck into these high waisted jeans, but it also looks so cute tied around the waist, or open with a tee under it. This flannel is also longer in the back so it will be perfect to wear with leggings.

IMG_1874
IMG_1881

Flannel / White Tee / Jeans

Which is your favorite look? The overalls or the flannel? I can't decide! I am linking up some other favorite pieces from Wild Fable below that you can shop directly through. You can also head to your local Target and shop the Wild Fable line there. Happy shopping!

Activewear with Joylab by Target

You guys know I am obsessed with all things Target. I love everything from clothing, to home decor, to baby items, to groceries! I also know you all can relate! Recently, I have finally tried out one of their activewear lines, Joylab, and I am loving it!

I styled this short sleeve top with the cutest snakeskin activewear leggings. I cannot get over the material and fit of this top. It makes me want to get outside and go for a walk right away! The back also has an open keyhole that is cute to show off an edgy sports bra. I love this top paired with the snakeskin leggings because it gives the whole look an edgy vibe. With the top and leggings together, I now have a look that is ready to go be active outside, or a look that is ready to run errands with a baby in tow! Both items fit true to size. I am wearing a medium in both the top and the bottom.

Baby Boy Fall Clothes From H&M

IMG_9545
IMG_9566

Recently, I went a little wild on H&M's website for baby clothes... and I do not regret a thing! I continue to buy Andrew's baby clothes from H&M because the quality is great and the prices are amazing. Also, they have sales almost every weekend it feels like!

For this fall haul of clothes for Andrew, I wanted to make sure every item was practical and could be worn many ways. For example, I wanted many pairs of pants to be able to wear with many different bodysuits, sweaters, sweatshirts, and t-shirts. I really just love dressing him cozy! I always want him to feel comfortable and his clothes to be soft. That is so important to me. Anyone else that way?!

Currently, H&M has a huge selection of baby clothes for both girls and boys. Every piece is so trendy and adorable! I have noticed that with their baby clothes lately, sizes go pretty quick. If you see an outfit you are wanting for your baby, I would buy quickly. They might have more in stock in store, but I haven't been to an H&M to check out the baby clothes in awhile!

Below I am linking items I purchased for Andrew. He is currently 28 weeks old and about 19 pounds. I bought him 12 month clothes that he should fit into this fall! I will also link favorite baby boy items and baby girl items!

Abercrombie Haul

IMG_0499
IMG_0489

Abercrombie & Fitch are truly becoming one of my absolute favorite retailers. Their quality and selection of items lately has been AMAZING! I am so excited to share this blog post with you today on some of my favorite new pieces from there as well as some items that I am eyeing on the site!

Let's first get started talking about this outfit I have styled here. Both the jeans and the bodysuit are from A&F and the second I got them in the mail, I put them on. I have been like dreaming of this outfit in my head for days and seeing it come to life is just the BEST! Is anyone else like that?! I literally will dream of an outfit for days/ hours/ weeks and then once I finally have it putting it all together is truly so satisfying!!

This bodysuit is made of an incredible material and is so stretchy. I think the color and cut is so flattering. I plan to style this with cardigans and blazers as well. I styled the bodysuit with these white high waisted jeans, which are incredible. They felt so good the second I put them on! I am between sizes 28 and 29 and I went up to a 29 in these. They are comfortable but I think I could have sized down. I know it may seem weird to be buying white denim for fall, but I promise you these will get so much wear this fall and winter! I will link all items below!

IMG_0508
IMG_0520

For this next look, I kept the jeans the same, but switched out the bodysuit for this STUNNING satin cowl neck cami. I am going to sound dramatic but this is the best tank I have ever put on. Like ever. It is insanely flattering and it feels so good on! The quality is amazing! I bought this on clearance for such a great price. They also make this top in a super similar bodysuit that I think would be so nice as well. Linking all items for you to shop below!

IMG_0585

Along with these two cute outfits, I got a pair of distressed black jeans for fall and a pair of black satin joggers. Both adorable bottoms to wear multiple ways this fall! Abercrombie & Fitch is having a few sales on their site this weekend including 25% off 3 or more items. This includes clearance items as well! I am going to link some items I am loving below!

Fitted Black Dress Three Ways

Abercrombie & Fitch Sale (1)

Are you ready to build up your fall wardrobe? I am! One item that will be a go to in your closet this fall is a Ribbed Knit Fitted Midi Dress. The one I am wearing here is from Forever 21 and it feels so great on! I wore it pregnant last year and love it this year as well. Today I styled this dress three different ways, but honestly, if nap time were longer I would have kept going and going! SO. MANY. POSSIBILITIES!

IMG_1763

Look one

This look is probably my favorite. If we were to go on a date night this fall, this is what I am wearing! First, I want to spotlight these snakeskin booties. YOU GUYS. THIS PRINT! I feel like I had to write that in all caps because these are my new favorite shoes, ever. I will wear them all fall. I found these on Amazon and for such a great deal. The Nordstrom Sale has a newer style for a greater price. The next item I styled the dress with is this beautiful Faux Suede jacket. I grabbed this one last year on super sale. These jackets go from year to year and are a bit of an investment. But worth it. This exact jacket is part of the Nordstrom Sale, but is currently sold out. Cross my fingers that it restocks! Look linked below!

IMG_0311

Look two

This look is such a fun, on the go outfit. I styled the dress with a comfy jean jacket and sneakers. This jean jacket looks adorable tied around the waist. Throw this on for a day when you need to run errands and want to be comfortable but also cute! Linking all items below!

IMG_0318

look three

For the final look, I paired the dress with an oversized blazer and some heeled sandals. This look feels more professional and formal. This style of blazer is my favorite and I think the oversized fit goes so well with a fitted dress. Because the dress and blazer are both solid colors, I styled a snakeskin sandal with them to spice it up. I almost always pick an animal print shoe (leopard or snakeskin) when my outfit is solid colors. It really makes the whole look, in my opinion! Look linked below!

Again, I could style this dress so many ways, but these three were easily available in my closet and are so fun! Now I am on the hunt for an affordable white ribbed knit midi dress...if you find one, please tell me! Thank you for reading!

Jess

Nordstrom Sale Favorites

IMG_9518

It's almost that time of the year, the Nordstrom Sale is almost here! Have you shopped the Nordstrom sale before? What are your thoughts? I am so curious because I see many differing opinions out there.

Personally, I am obsessed with this sale. I love it so much because they take all new items they have in for fall and winter and discount them for a limited time. Once the sale is over, the prices go back up and those items won't go back on sale usually until the end of the season. It is the best time to see some new styles that are going to be coming out this fall and winter. One thing that has been really tricky with the sale in the past is that items sell out FAST! They sell out so fast that it sometimes feel unfair. Luckily, many items will be returned and will come back in stock throughout the sale. I also want to add, that although this is a great sale, please don't feel pressured to buy! Sometimes I find myself being like "OMG, those boots are usually $100 and I can get them for $45?! Yep, I need them!" When really, did I need that pair of boots? No! I wanted them because they were such a good deal! So just be mindful when shopping. Easier said than done, I know :).

This year, Nordstrom has created a Preview that everyone can see. I love this SO much! You are able to go in and browse the sale and their prices and then add the items to a wishlist. This will be so helpful when you are ready to shop. Just go to your wish list, add to cart, and check out! I do anticipate items selling out very fast now with this new feature. I am going to share with you some of my personal favorite items from the sale. They are all items that I think will be so great this fall and winter and items I can just picture wearing!

Shoes

First, let's start with shoes. I love a good shoe sale, especially on boots. They have SO many great ones this year. All of the shoes I picked to share are under $100. Also, each shoe comes in many different colors. I love to buy snakeskin boots and different colored booties and they have so many options this year!

Women's Tops

The Nordstrom Sale is a great time to buy sweaters or coats for this coming season. I love to just browse and see what sweaters and coats are in style! Almost all of my coats and jackets are from Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack (on sale of course). Sharing my favorites below.

WOmen's bottoms

This year the sale includes lots of great options for leggings, skirts, and jeans. A few years back I bought my first pair of Spanx leggings during the sale and never regretted it! They are the best ever. Last year, I bought a pair of maternity leggings from the sale and they were the absolute best! This year I am eyeing a pair of suede pants and faux leather shorts. So cute for fall!

What are you interested in buying during the sale?! I am so interested in knowing! Leave a comment below and don't forget to go to Nordstrom.com and make up your wishlist!

Fall Closet Staple: Suede Skirt

IMG_9621
IMG_9623
IMG_9617

Why your closet needs a suede skirt

It is almost my favorite time of the year- FALL! I don't know about you all but I truly cannot wait. I love everything about Fall. I am also soo excited to experience fall this year with Andrew and take him to a pumpkin patch!

When it comes to my fall wardrobe, I love to have staple pieces that will carry me year to year. Some staple pieces I love are leather jackets, classic colored sweaters, great pair of jeans, booties, and now a suede skirt. I was lucky enough to grab this suede skirt for under $30 on a Nordstrom Rack sale. It actually was an item that was part of the Nordstrom Sale last year, but I was never able to grab it. It fits like a glove (wearing size 28) and is SO nice! I am already imagining up so many ways to wear it.

I think a suede skirt will be a staple piece for fall because it is a great piece to wear with all your favorite fall accessories (sweaters, booties, hats) when it is still warm outside! Then, as we move into the cooler months, you can dress the skirt with knee high boots and tights. Sometimes, I get tired of jeans of leggings and need something different- insert suede skirt! So easy and makes your whole look very elevated.

Today I have this stunning suede skirt paired with this super pretty (and affordable) white wrap blouse, snakeskin mules, wide brimmed hat, and bag. I feel very ready for a trip to a winery! I am sure I will be wearing this outfit out and about someday in the near future!

I am linking similar suede skirts below along with different items to pair them with! How would you style a suede skirt?

Thanks for reading!

Styling Graphic Tees

Let's talk Graphic Tees! They are one of my favorite trends right now. I love the look of them styled with biker shorts, distressed denim, or shorts. However, my favorite way of styling them is with a girly patterned skirt or shorts! This can be tricky to do at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is so easy and it looks so good together! A perfect mix of girly and edgy.

IMG_9050
IMG_9052

When styling Graphic Tees and girly skirts, you can mix and match almost any print, but you want to keep an eye out for like colors. In my outfit above, I paired a pale yellow Guns N' Roses shirt with a light blue floral skirt. The lettering of the shirt had light blue flowers in it so it paired perfectly with this skirt! this shirt would also look great with plaid skirt that had black plaid throughout because of the black letters. How fun, right?!

I will share some tees below and girly skirts and shorts. All of these are shoppable and so affordable!

I am obsessed with this Nirvana tee and think it would be so cute paired with this plaid skort, a wide brimmed hat, and white booties. I ordered both the shirt and skort and cannot wait to pair it when it arrives!

Are you into the graphic tee trend? What is your favorite way of styling them?

Abercrombie & Fitch Sale Finds

IMG_8084

Abercrombie & Fitch is very quickly becoming one of my favorite stores to shop. I can't even believe it! Their quality of clothing is amazing and their sales are very good. They have a great sale going on right now where many items are 40- 60% off. I am sharing some of my favorites!

IMG_8065

The first thing that caught my eye when I was browsing the site was this adorable matching set in the floral pattern. Both the top and bottom are sold separately but they are SO cute! I think they would look darling together with white lace up sandals. Next, I am obsessed with this puff sleeved scrunch top and this gorgeous midi skirt. These are both items that can be worn so many ways. The last look I love is this floral off the shoulder bodysuit (shown on me in the picture above) and white distressed jeans. Love this easy look. This bodysuit has been a closet staple all throughout spring and will now transition so well from summer into fall!

IMG_8104

These last few items are all great pieces that will transition straight into the fall. I am already eyeing things I would like for the fall and I love when stores have new items on sale- like Abercrombie does here! First, can we just admire this jumpsuit. This is a STUNNER! I just imagine wearing it with some strappy shoes and a big hat. I love it so much. Next, I am in LOVE with this gorgeous satin black midi dress. It would look so good with this cute jacket, a hat, and strappy shoes. The last look I am loving is this pretty champagne colored skirt and white puff sleeved top. You could also dress down this skirt by adding a graphic tee and fun sneakers. Top it off with a leather jacket and you would look so cute and chic!

Take a minute to browse Abercrombie's website and their sale pieces! They are all so cute.

Beach With a Baby

IMG_7202

We just got back from our family beach trip on Tuesday and we had truly the best time ever. My family has been going to Myrtle Beach since I was little and I was so excited to bring our own baby in on that tradition! My parents own a house in Myrtle that we are fortunate enough to go to and we were able to eat at home, cook, and go to the beach all while keeping our distance from anyone.

I named this blog post "Beach With a Baby" because it is DIFFERENT! Let me tell ya! But better than any other beach trip I promise! Seeing your baby observe something new for the first time is truly incredible. Spending time like this together as a family is also incredible. I already wish we could go back!

IMG_7201

The trip to and from the beach

For the ride down (about 7 hours), we left around 4:30pm because Andrew's bedtime is 7pm. This was SO helpful! I packed two bottles in a small cooler and was able to feed him with those. He fell asleep around 7pm and was out for the entire trip until we got to the house at 12am! YAY! We got lucky. We stopped for one diaper change and burp session and then had to stop for gas a separate time that he slept through. To prepare for the ride we downloaded a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to play incase he got fussy (this helped big time on the way home). We also brought lots of little toys that he could grab and bite if needed. I do have to say though that our dog was panting from the back the whole time and staring at him and I think Andrew loved every second of it! Haha!

What we packed for the beach

I will link everything at the end, but I basically packed everything that he needs from a day to day basis. We brought his monitor, sleep suit, hatch sound machine, packnplay, and then clothes and what not! All of this was very helpful. I loved having the monitor so we could go down stairs or be outside with the peace of mind that he was okay.

As far as beach products go, we only actually went to the beach twice (we are the worst- I used to be someone who laid in sun from 10 am- 3 pm, but it is much different with a baby!). We used Think Baby sunscreen (highly recommend), an adorable swimsuit set with a rash guard, and a bucket hat.  Those are an absolute must in my opinion to keep your baby safe from the sun and nice and cool. We also had an umbrella! Each day we pushed him down in his stroller to the beach (house is about a block from the beach) and then would fold up the stroller once we got to the sand and carried him down. Someone would sit with him in a chair when we got to the beach. The pool where we were was closed for safety reasons, so we brought his little blow up pool and used that each day. So fun and he loved it! *I asked so many questions before the trip and so many moms gave all these suggestions. They helped a TON and helped me feel more confident! I also had my mom to help with ideas.

For toys, we packed his Sit Me Up (needed for rice cereal feedings) and his piano mat. He was held so much throughout the week, but still loved his toys! We also packed the Baby Bjorn which I was so glad that I did! I used it in the mornings to walk on the beach with him and it was so much fun.

The trip in general

We truly had the best trip and I hope everyone gets to get out and away if even only for a little! For me, I needed to get out of the house and spending time with my family made my heart feel so full. I have to say- there is nothing like seeing your siblings or parents with your baby! I mean it seriously makes my heart burst in joy. We were also able to see my grandparents which was wonderful. I know it made them so happy to see Andrew and he was excited to see them! I already cannot wait for our next trip. If you are nervous about traveling with a baby, I understand. You can do it. Your baby will love it and you both will grow from it! Is there anywhere you are planning on going this summer?

Jess

Living Room Inspiration

IMG_7945

How is everyone!?! I can't believe today is JULY 3rd! This year is flying by! With spending so much time at home I am wanting to redo every single room in our home. I can't help it! Right now, I would love to switch some things out in our living room to make things more neutral and flow together. I threw together this style board of everything I am eying for our living room!

Currently, we have a large sectional and this rug, which I love. It is soft and bright white so it really brightens up the room. I have been on the hunt for a new coffee table because I know Andrew will be on the move soon. I have been wanting a tufted ottoman, but cannot find any that I love (and they are soo expensive in my opinion!). I found this coffee table from Target and instantly fell in love. It is sleek, simple, and modern. It also is in the shape of an oval! Baby friendly!! I would love to style this coffee table with a pretty Rattan tray, books, and pretty decorative pieces. I love this shape and these beads so much.

Across from our couch and TV area, we have a large sitting area where we usually sit and play with Andrew. I currently have a mirrored table and two parsons chairs there, but don't love the look. I want something to match the whole room more. I found these chairs online at TJ Maxx and fell in LOVE! They are stunning! I thought they would look so great on either side of this cube storage shelf. I love this shelf because it is modern and sleek. I can move it anywhere in the house if I want to change things up later on. It will also be a great place to store some of Andrew's little toys! I thought these baskets would look great on the bottom. I would decorate the top two shelves with books and frames. For the top, I would add large table lamp. Above the shelf you could do a mirror to really make the room feel bigger or have a painting.

What styles are you loving right now for your living room?! Shop any of the links below.

Thank you so much for reading! Have a happy and safe Fourth of July!

Fourth of July Looks

Can you believe it is almost the Fourth of July!? This year is flying BY! I am probably one of the only people that wants it to slow down. Andrew is growing so fast- he will already be five months on July 5th!

I am so curious though since every state is very different right now- what are you doing for the Fourth of July? I can tell you we don't have a single thing planned! This kind of makes me sad because I love this holiday so much and celebrating with family and friends is always fun. I am sure last minute we will just do a little family cookout and I will for sure be dressing for the occasion! I know a classic jean shorts and t-shirt is one of the most popular and go-to looks for the Fourth, but I am going to bring you three dressier looks. They are girly and can be worn so many ways throughout the summer! You can shop all items under each photo collage.

IMG_7058

This is probably my favorite look. I love a simple blue and white dress for summer! This one is under $20 and is so adorable! I think it would look beautiful with these gold wrap sandals (have been eyeing this FOREVER), a straw hat, sunnies, and straw bag. There you go! An easy look with pieces you can wear a hundred times! Shop each item below.

IMG_7087

This red and white dress is STUNNING! It would be so cute for the fourth with some white strappy sandals and accessories. But then, you can wear it again in the fall with some white booties and hat! Shop all the items below.

IMG_7104

This is the final look and probably what I will end up wearing. I have shared this dress MANY times! I bought it three years ago, full price, to wear to my Rehearsal dinner. I have never gotten so many questions about a dress! It is now on an amazing sale for $60 and one day shipping with prime! I love how they have it styled with sneakers in the picture. I would love to style it with these gold Steve Madden heels. Best part?! The heels are 40% off with code Spring40! I think I may grab them!! Shop all the items below.

I hope you all have a happy and safe Fourth of July weekend! Please be sure to follow all your states rules when enjoying your weekend! Thank you for reading 🙂

Favorite Baby Items 3-4 Months

IMG_6508

I am writing this in just pure disbelief that my baby is FOUR MONTHS old! The time has gone by so so fast. Andrew is changing so much each day it's incredible. Four months is a really fun time. He is noticing so much around him, loves to make noises, has just started giggling, rolling, pulling Oakley's hair (our dog), and loves to play and be held all the time.

I want to share with you all some baby products that we really love right now for Andrew. First, I want to talk about his current toys that he loves!

Piano Mat

Andrew has loved this mat forever! It is the best toy that babies can use for months! Right now he loves to lay on the mat and roll over. As he gets bigger, he will be able to sit up and hit the piano keys!

Animal Activity Jumperoo

This jumper is the best! Andrew will sit and bounce in it happily for so long. It makes him soo happy. I love watching his excitement as he bounces and plays with all the little animals around it! It is also a great price and is easy to assemble.

Sit Me Up Floor Seat

This seat is sooo helpful. I love it so much and I am pretty sure Andrew does too! When he is sitting in this seat he looks comfortable and happy. It comes with two toys that he can play with (which is perfect for right now because he wants to grab everything). It is also so convenient. I love using it during dinner time and whenever we are sitting outside on the deck. We are going to the beach next week and we are definitely bringing this with us!

Next, I want to share our favorite baby gear that really help us day in day out. Everything I am sharing are tried and true and I would recommend them to everyone!

Bedtime Items

On bath nights, we use this Johnson's Sleepy Time Baby set. This set comes with shampoo, soap, and a lotion. We use this combination and I really feel like it helps relax and calm him before bed. When it is not bath night, we still use the Sleepy Time lotion for his baby massage!!

After bath, fresh diaper change, and books, we put him in the Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit. We started using this a little after three months and it really helps him sleep through the night! He will sleep 7:30- 5:30 with this sleepsuit! Plus he looks like the cutest little marshmallow in this! This suit is made to help with the transition from a swaddle. Andrew stopped being swaddled at one month, but he moves a lot when sleeping, this just helps him be a little more stationary! When using this, be sure that they don't get too hot! I put Andrew in a short sleeve onesie under the sleepsuit.

While he is sleeping we use this monitor and this sound machine. This sound machine is the best thing ever. Andrew loves watching me turn it on and change the colors and the sounds! We turn this on right away at the start of the bedtime routine.

Daily Favorites

During the day we use these pacis all the time. They are scattered throughout the house! Andrew lovvvves them and I have heard from so many other moms that their children love them as well! We also use Huggies diapers and Huggies wipes!

I hope some of these items help you and your baby! What items do you use with your baby that you love?! I would love to learn about new baby products below!

Tie Dye Kimono

IMG_5847
IMG_5839
IMG_5849

First and foremost, how are you all? I took a big break away from anything fashion, beauty, and social media related this week. I spent time reading articles, talking with friends, looking up new books, and a lot of praying. I knew I needed to become better educated and to give my requests and fears up to God. I am going to continue to do this each day.

It is 9:30 on Thursday and I was catching up on work but now diving deep into what I love the most- all things fashion! I couldn't wait to share this kimono with you all in pink! This is the actual summer Kimono of my DREAMS! Flowy, airy, pink, and tie dye?! Yes please. I grabbed this kimono awhile back when I saw it in the Cafe color and have worn it so many times! Recently this pink color came back into stock and I bought it right away. This kimono is coming and going in and out of stock constantly. I can't blame everyone for wanting it. It is so beautiful!

Here I have the kimono styled with white denim shorts, a white tank, my favorite Lack of Color hat, and these beautiful lace up sandals. This is such an easy yet beautiful summer look. I also plan on styling this kimono with a bathing suit when we head to the beach this summer. I think it will look really stunning over a white one piece!

Linking this look and some of my other favorite kimonos right now, below.

Affordable Swimwear

IMG_5539

It's almost time to break out all our favorite swimsuits!! I usually am SO excited for swimsuits and finding new ones to wear, but this year I was a little apprehensive since I just had Andrew and have not gotten back into working out yet. I will get back into exercise eventually. This summer, I will be wearing many one pieces, which I am actually very excited about!!

I have been browsing online for some really adorable one pieces as well as high waisted two pieces. The one piece I ordered is AMAZING on and so well made! I love the buckle detail around the waist and the fact that it has full coverage in the back. It looks incredible styled with this kimono and a straw bag. I am wearing the size large. I really like when a one piece is strapless, but still has great support and this one definitely does. I cannot wait to wear it on our beach trip!

Two Pieces

Cover Ups

What are your favorite type of swimsuits to wear in the summer?! Are you going to be visiting a beach or a pool? Leave me a comment below!

Custom Invitations with Basic Invite

I am so excited to be sharing with you all some adorable Birthday Invitations with Basic Invite. Basic Invite is a website that offers custom invitations for all different events! They have invitations for birthdays, weddings, showers, graduations, birth announcements, and more. I am drawn to this site because at this point in my life, I love all the small details. Andrew will eventually be having birthday parties and I cannot wait to design the theme and find the cutest invitations for them!

Custom Invitations

The first thing you can do when browsing for invitations is start with
custom invitations. From here, you can pick from over 180 different color selections, preview the final product online, and pick your envelope color. If needed, you can also have addresses printed on the envelopes. This makes everything so easy when you are event planning! Seriously wondering why I did not do that when it came to our wedding invitations.

Party Invitations

When it comes to party invitations, Basic Invite has you covered. They have the best Birthday Party Invitations for all ages of life! They also offer Birthday Party Invitation templates, so you can customize it to make it the way you would like it to be. Screen Shot 2020-05-25 at 8.22.24 AM

I love this "Wild One" birthday invitation design so much! I had to plug in a picture of Andrew and change around the colors to see what I liked. The best part was that I could easily change the colors on the invitation to match the picture of Andrew more. The palms were originally greens and I was able to change them to blues. How amazing?! I love when everything matches and flows together nicely and Basic Invite makes that so easy.

My husband, Tyler, will also be having a milestone birthday in a few months- the big THIRTY! Basic invite has so many options for 30th birthday party invitations. I was easily able to go in and browse all "milestone birthday" invitations and plug in our information to see how it would look! I love the look of this one for his birthday.

Screen Shot 2020-05-23 at 10.00.53 PM

After playing around and creating many invitations on the site, I am amazed at how easy Basic Invite is to use. Okay you guys...I got sucked into a browsing hole today and now I want everything that I found. Part of me loves that because I feel inspired with new ideas but the other part of me hates it because I do not need any of it! Anyways, I wanted to share with you all these INCREDIBLE home decor finds that I found online with Walmart. They have SO many good home decor items it just takes some sifting through.

When you are buying items for your home, try to pick a theme or a style for the room that you are working in (or the entire house) and stick to that theme and style while you are shopping. I struggle with this a lot because I love SO many different home decor styles. No matter what style I am loving, I really try to stick to neutrals across the board.

For this collage, everything is very neutral. I focused on blues, creams, grays and whites. I think you could do an entire family room with this.

First, this rug is so gorgeous ( I am actually considering it for our dining room)! I like the white background of it with the blue print. I think it would help brighten up a room.

Next, I love this fun wicker coffee table. The color of this is so beautiful! I like the washed gray look because I figured it could also go well with whites, golds, or silvers. It is also on major sale!!

Then, I would use this tray on the coffee table and style it with some coffee table books, this beautiful vase and pampas grass, and this stunning candle holder. Doesn't this candle holder look like Serena & Lily?! It is only $15!

I am also obsessed with these beautiful tasseled pillows. I think the quality looks great and they will easily go from season to season. This gray ottoman would look great on its own, or would look beautiful with two side by side for extra seating in a family room.

Lastly, I love this white washed wooden ladder to display throw blankets on. This throw blanket looks cozy and would also go beautifully on this ladder. I currently have a ladder like this in our living room and I absolutely love the look of it. I place either a large wicker basket in front of it or an ottoman.

With being home constantly, I want to redo every single room in our house. For now, I will just make these collages and visualize the rooms in my head! Haha! I wish I could buy all of these items! Yay for Walmart finds! What are you re-doing in your house?!

Styling a White Top for Summer

IMG_4936

You guys know I am all about finding pieces that are so versatile for your closet. If I am going to buy something I have to know that I will have multiple ways to wear it! I always start with brainstorming how exactly I could wear it before I purchase. Makes it much easier when the piece arrives! Today I want to share three easy ways to style a white structured top for summer. I am sure so many of you probably already have a pretty white top in your closet so you can get to styling right away! If you do not, I will link this top and others (all under $20) at the end of this post.

The first and best way to style a white top in my opinion is with light wash distressed denim and a cute sandal. Easiest yet most chic look ever. For this look I threw on my favorite pair of jeans (sold out but linking similar pair here).  I then styled it with my everyday go to jewelry pieces to glam it up. This necklace and bracelet are both stunning and look great with literally any outfit! I also wear these hoop earrings with almost every outfit each day and get so many questions about them! I cannot recommend a pair of earrings enough. They are so beautiful. Add your favorite sandals or simple heels and you have a perfectly styled look! Wear it around the house, out for errands, or out to dinner!

IMG_4945

The second way to style this white top is with a pretty pair of shorts! I love a pair of girly shorts for summer! This look is so fun and can easily go from day to night. If you are wearing this during the day, its comfortable enough to lounge on the couch or play with your kids! If you are wearing it at night, you can easily throw on some heels and be done! These shorts are so cute and the ruffled bottom give them a skirt look, when they are really shorts! Since we are styling a white top, you can look for any colored pair of shorts or even some with a pretty lace or floral design. I will link my favorites below!

IMG_4951

The last way to style this top is with a denim skirt. I lovvvve a denim skirt for summer! Some days are so hot there is no possible way to wear jeans, so a denim skirt to me is just as good! My denim skirt here is old, but I will link some new ones that I love. This one is so cute with the buttons down the front. This outfit to me is exactly what I want to wear when we get a date night in when hopefully things start to clear up!

White Tops

Shorts

Skirts

I hope you guys enjoyed this! Hopefully you have some items like this already in your closet so it will be easy to recreate. Stay safe and healthy!

Currently Craving- All things Floral

IMG_4265
IMG_4267

Is it just me or are there so many pretty floral prints out right now!?! From clothing to home decor, there are so many pretty options to pick from. One of my favorite things to do for spring and summer is to pair a pretty floral blouse with white shorts or jeans and call it a day. It is such an easy outfit and looks great no matter what!

This beautiful floral top in pictures is only $18 and looks so good with these white shorts! I also ordered the denim skort that it is styled with online and I can't wait to wear them together! I am going to share some favorite floral tops below- all for really great prices.

Tops

IMG_4861

Along with floral tops, I am loving floral rompers. They are so fun for summer and are the easiest one and done outfit you can do! This romper is beautifully made and feels so good on. I love it paired with small heels. I wore it for my quarantined birthday this year but I am hopeful I will get to wear it somewhere this summer! Here are some other gorgeous floral rompers that will be perfect this summer.

Rompers

I hope you all are enjoying all the pretty floral prints as much as I am! Stay safe and healthy everyone 🙂

Andrew’s Nursery

My Favorite Room in the House

Andrew's room is easily the best room in our home. It just feels calm, inviting, and clean (although it is often messy- haha)! When we were designing this room it was a bit tricky because the space is small. Although it is small, it has tall ceilings that make it feel bigger when you are in it, which I love! Since the room is small I wanted to do white furniture and light blue and gray accents to keep the room feeling bright! To me the brightness makes it feel bigger!

Everything we have in this room I absolutely love and would recommend to anyone. We spend so much time in here and it makes me feel so happy to have a room that is special for Andrew. One of my absolute favorite parts of the room (Tyler's too) would be this chair and ottoman. I find myself coming in this room a lot to feed him because the chair and ottoman are so comfy! Tyler loves them because it is the best place to sit and read him a book. We keep a big basket of books right next to the chair for easy access. The chair glides back and forth and the color matches perfectly with the room.

Some items are from Home Goods and Hobby Lobby (baskets and "Now I lay me" wall decor) so I cannot link them. The mobile above the crib is from Restoration Hardware and was super easy to hang! I will link everything I can below.

Anything that I did not link is something that I bought in store and couldn't link. Leave me a comment with any questions!

Layering Necklaces

IMG_3492
IMG_3505
IMG_3495

TOP/ SHORTS/ RING/ BRACELET

Layer it Up

Layering necklaces- one of my favorite trends this spring! I am loving all the gold necklaces out there right now. This is such a fun trend to try out because you can purchase really great pieces to spice up your outfit without spending a lot of money.

Personally, I love costume jewelry. I have always been that way! I used to love shopping in Charming Charlie's! I love big earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, you name it. Since I love different jewelry trends so much, I do not like to spend a lot on them because I am constantly changing out what I am wearing and like to wear different pieces with different outfits. This spring, many different necklace styles started coming out and they all looked SO good layered together. I immediately wanted to try the trend so I went to my favorite place for cheap accessories- Forever 21. I quickly ordered the three necklaces in the picture and have been wearing them for months. They are always a weekly top seller! I wear them at least 3 times a week and the quality of them is still great. My favorite way to wear them at home is with a casual t shirt or tie dye set and I feel like it makes the whole look more put together! Even though I am just at home! I will link them below.

How to Layer

Start with a flat herringbone style necklace first. These ones are very in right now and I admit I was hesitant to try it at first, but I love the way it looks on. It even looks amazing on its own. LInking some of my favorites below.

Next, add a chain or chunky necklace. The one I wear has a coin pendant on it, but I am really wanting to get a new one that is just a chain. Linking my favorites below.

Finally, add a dainty necklace. This one can be a necklace with your initial on it, one with coin pendants, evil eyes, stones, whatever you like best! Right now I really love coin pendants and initials. Linking my favorites below.

I hope that was helpful! How do you like to layer necklaces? Leave me a comment below!

My Blog is One Year Old!

IMG_3686
IMG_3706
IMG_3688
TOP/SHORTS/BRACELET/RING/EARRINGS

What I have Learned So Far...

I can hardly believe my blog has been public for one year! I remember being so nervous last year when I shared out that I had started a blog and that it was live with its first posts. So much has changed since then and I have learned so much.

I started off this journey with my blog knowing absolutely nothing about WordPress and constantly calling my dad for help. My dad would send me videos he found on how to use wordpress and helped me so much from the beginning! Finally, I got the hang of things and it became easier. If you are nervous about starting a blog, but feel passionate about it, I highly suggest just taking that leap of faith and trying it out!

In honor of my blog being one year old today I want to share some things I have learned along the way! Hopefully this can be helpful to you in starting your own blog!

1. Ask for Advice

Last spring and summer I started going to blogger meetups in my area (DC Bloggers) to listen to bloggers give advice and share out things they have learned. It was SO helpful! I went with one of my friends and we learned a lot about different apps, how to be consistent, and how to share out things. I think many areas have Blogger Unions so depending on where you are, see if they have these and try to go to one of their meet ups. Also, make friends with others who are also starting out a blog. Ask them questions and help others when you can!

2. Be consistent

Right after sharing out my blog, I became pregnant and the first trimester exhaustion hit me, so the last thing I could do was work on my blog. I felt embarrassed and discouraged because I couldn't post much, but I knew my body needed a break. I didn't post much for long periods of time on my blog, but I started to set goals for myself and by setting goals I became better at achieving them! Now I am able to produce 2-3 blog posts a week and I really really enjoy it. I feel more comfortable and at ease when producing the posts. It's like an incentive for me. I finish the work I need to do for school, with Andrew, and around the house, then I can make a post.

3. Look for easy to use templates

I wish I had known this from the very beginning. I actually JUST discovered this and it has made everything SO much easier. You can go to Etsy and search for Blog templates. There are so many amazing ones! If you don't feel comfortable installing it on your page, many stores will install it for you at a price. I found my current template on Etsy and installed it myself. The girl I bought it from was so helpful and her instructions on install were very easy! I used to hate the layout of my blog before I found her template. It's incredible.

4. talk about your blog on social media

One way I have found to increase traffic on my blog is to talk about it on instagram. I use instagram all the time so for me it is the best resource to share out my blog! I share it on my stories and in posts as well. It might even be helpful to do quick screen recordings to share how to navigate your blog.

5. don't get discouraged

This is one of the most important things I have learned that I still have to remind myself. Nothing that is good or worth it is going to come easy. As with anything you do, you have to try and work hard. Some days I felt like there was no purpose in it, but then my husband would remind me that this is what I love. And he is right! I love to share clothes, makeup, and anything that works for us. I love to talk to others about those things! It's one of my passions and as long as I feel that way, the blog serves a purpose for me and for anyone else who is interested in reading!

I still have so much to learn when it comes to having a blog and sharing things but I feel so excited for that and for what's to come! Thank you so much for reading and following along. It means so much to me!

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

IMG_3095
IMG_3093
IMG_3103

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is coming up so soon! It is only two weeks away, which I cannot even believe! Even though we are quarantined, I feel like these months are flying by. Mother's Day may be a little different this year for families, but it is still so important that you celebrate your moms, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and friends. You can celebrate these women by sending cards, giving gifts, or sending a sweet message.

This is my first Mother's Day as a mommy and I am so excited! I remember last year on Mother's Day feeling so sentimental and grateful for all the moms that I know especially my mom, my mother in law, and my grandma. I felt in awe of what a mother does for her family. My mom has been there for me through every high and low life has brought and I just wanted her to know how grateful I am (don't worry, I feel this way on Father's Day too for my Dad!) Little did I know I was already pregnant and on my way to becoming a mommy too! This year, since we are quarantined, we won't get to attend church and celebrate with a lunch after, but I am hopeful we can maybe have a picnic, or go on a walk, or just do something to see our moms! (trying my best to look at things positively and focus on what we can do, not what we can't do)

If you are Mom, know that you are a rockstar. You are strong, you are powerful, and you deserve all the thanks and hugs in the world! Hopefully your sweet family can spoil you to thank you for the mother that you are!

Below are some gifts that you can order easily online if you need to shop for the moms in your life, or if you want to send a link to your husband letting him know Mother's Day is coming up:)! Haha! All items I am linking are under $50!

Jewelry

Accessories

House Items

How I like to Gift

For Mother's Day, I typically like to do something sentimental, like a picture frame and a photo. Then, I add in a candle or a fragrance. Lastly, I add in something that I know they will enjoy like a piece of jewelry or something for the home. I hope this was helpful. I would love to hear how you are celebrating Mother's Day this year and what you are gifting! Leave a comment below :)!

Favorite Perfumes with the Sephora Sale

IMG_2294
IMG_2288
IMG_2293

Perfume

I love a good perfume. I notoriously buy the big perfume sets from Sephora where you get a voucher to trade in for a full size perfume basically every Sephora Sale! I keep a bag full of mini perfumes in my dresser in case I ever want to mix it up or mix scents together! One of my girlfriends taught me about mixing scents together and it is the best thing ever. So give me all the minis!

I love a lot of perfumes but I have two absolute favorites that I wear daily. I switch it up constantly so I like to have a bottle of both. Whenever I wear either of these perfumes, I get so many compliments and the smell lasts all day long!

Chanel COCO mademoiselle

If you ever want to invest in one scent, this is it. It is the best perfume ever, in my opinion! I originally discovered this perfume when my Mother in law was wearing it and noticed the smell lasted so long! The smell is very elegant and beautiful. Also, the packaging on it is stunning. One spray of this perfume goes a very long way so the bottle will last a long time! I highly recommend buying this perfume on sale as it is a huge splurge. It would be a great Mother's Day gift!

dolce&gabbana dolce garden

This perfume. Oh my gosh. The smell is sweet, floral, and just beautiful! It is a scent I can never get tired of. I used to wear Light Blue, and received this as a sample from Sephora. I immediately switched over from Light Blue to this. It's so beautiful and girly and the sweet smell to it makes it even better. I think once you smell this you will love it! The scent is also very long lasting.

Other favorites i have tried

Perfume can be pricey so I think the best time to buy it is during a sale. It also makes a wonderful gift. All of the perfumes that I have linked smell so good and are long lasting!

Jess

Abercrombie & Fitch Sale

You guys... Abercrombie & Fitch has SHOCKED ME! They have SUCH good things right now! I placed a huge order and truly could not get over how much I loved every single piece and the quality is amazing. I should preface this by letting you all know that I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch for years in Highschool and College breaks! I never wanted to buy their clothes and only bought what I needed to wear to work. OMG. Things have changed, I think I will be adding them to my favorite store list and I am 26 YEARS OLD! My college self would be laughing at me right now.

I am sharing some pictures below of the items I purchased. I got a few tops that are easy to wear around the house and can be worn when quarantine is over! I also got a super cute pair of knit shorts that can be worn dressed up or down. I didn't order any of their jeans but was talking to one of my girlfriends yesterday and she just got in a pair from them and said they were the best jeans ever. Now I am convinced...I need to order some! I will link up some that I think are so cute.

Nordstrom Sale: Prices Dropped!

IMG_2449-1

I am throwing together this blog post so quickly because I want to share the best items from the Nordstrom spring sale! The prices of so many pieces just dropped big time- I mean lower than I would ever expect some of these items to go. Things are going very fast though, so if there is something you have had your eye on, now would be the time to grab it. This gorgeous top from the photo is on sale now for $26 and it is so beautiful in person. I wish I could wear it all the time! I am going to break down my favorites into categories starting with clothes. Click on any of the items to shop the links directly.

Clothing

Jewelry

Accessories

Shoes

What to Buy

I am noticing a ton of dresses are marked down 60-70% off, I guess because we don't have many places to wear them! My Easter dress is marked down to only $35 and it is an incredible dress- it's so flattering and the quality is amazing. To me, this sale is a great time to purchase things to wear later on, like dresses (only if you can!) because I can't imagine prices going lower. This would also be a great time for new sneakers if you have been needing a new pair with all your walks! These Adidas are marked down to $38! If you are searching for gifts for Mother's Day this is also a great time to spoil your mom! This necklace is gorgeous and the price is amazing!

If you snag any great deals from this sale, leave a comment below to let me know!

What to shop for?

I love love love when Sephora has sales. They only happen a few times a year so I specifically wait to buy larger products or something I have been wanting to experiment with during these sales. Since we are all during this time, it would be a great idea to ramp up your skin care routine! We have the time so why not?! I have been trying a few new skincare items that will be included in the sale and they are GOOD (and affordable)! I will share these in a little.

I am going to share what is in my makeup bag that I use everyday and that I truly love. I will also share some items I am hoping to get and try because I have had my eye on them.

First up, Skincare

For the last two weeks I have started using the Tatcha Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser and the Water Cream. These make my skin feel incredible. I use them each morning! I bought the mini sizes to see if I liked them and I love them.

I have also started using The Ordinary "No-Brainer" set. I actually only use two of the products right now (one I can't use because I am breastfeeding), but I am obsessed with the way they make my skin feel. I can see a significant difference in my skin. It looks brighter and more even tone- which is huge for me because I have awful acne scars. This set is only $29 and it is amazing. I can't wait to try more from this brand!

Next, what is in my make-up bag that i love

Okay all of the products I am going to share now are products I use every single day. I can do my makeup in less than 15 minutes now and on the floor anywhere in my house (wherever I am with Andrew) thanks to these holy grail products.

Foundation- I am obsessed with this Hourglass foundation stick. It goes on so easily and blends perfectly with a damp beauty blender. I love the texture and the coverage it gives my skin. It also feels SO lightweight on my face! I wear the color Linen.

Color Corrector- This is not something that is necessary in your make-up routine but I really need it. It is a color corrector that helps take away dark under eye circles. I apply a little of this under my eyes and use a damp beauty blender to blend it all in. Then, I apply my concealer. It is amazing. I can tell a difference if I don't use it! I wear the color fair.

Concealer- I must be on an Hourglass kick becauses I am also equally obsessed with the concealer! This stuff does the WORK you want a concealer to do. I have dark circles with my crazy sleep schedule now and this covers them so well. A little goes a lonnnnng way. I think this bottle will last me such a long time. I wear the color Birch.

Blush- I mentioned this a previous blog post, but this Nars Liquid Blush in the color Orgasm is so so beautiful. Don't be scared about it being liquid. It is so easy to dab into your skin and it blends beautifully. A little goes a very long way!

Bronzer & Highlighter- I have used this kit for months (I bought it during the Sephora sale in the fall) and I love it! It has beautiful colors for bronzer that blend so well and has the best highlighter ever. The highlighter can also be used for the inner corner of your eyes for a pop! I can't recommend this palette enough! It is a splurge but to buy during a sale is the best time. It does come in a mini, but the mini doesn't have the highlighter color that I love. You want the highlighter Cookie, which you can buy individually if you don't want the set.

Brows- I get so many questions about my brows and I have to tell you they are truly a mess without this product. I have used the Anastasia Brow Wiz in the color Taupe for years. I stock up when it is on sale. Nothing compares.

Lipstick- I have talked about this lipstick so many times and I am sure you hear everyone talking about! It is the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in the color Kim KW. It is the best nude color ever. Again with this product, a little goes a long way!  I will be repurchasing during the sale because I have finally used up one whole stick! It is the only lipstick I ever use.

Perfume- This is a wonderful time to buy perfume. You usually cannot get these perfumes on sale any other time! I have two that I wear and love. I switch it up daily but love both so much. First, I love the Coco Chanel Mademoiselle. The smell is just beautiful and you only need one spray to last you the day. Next, I love Dolce and Gabbana in Dolce Garden. This scent is sweet and floral. Whenever I wear this I get so many compliments. It's so pretty!!

PRODUCTS I WANT TO TRY

I won't talk about any of these products because I personally have not tried them. I have heard and read great things about them and they have been on my brain! Let me know if you like to use any of them 🙂

Mommy & Me: Matching Your Baby!

IMG_1184
IMG_1173

Okay I am not embarrassed to admit that when I dress Andrew I think to myself, 'What do I have that can match him?' haha! It makes me so happy. Why?! Who knows. Today I am going to share a few outfits for both you and baby to match! I will share both girls and boys items! The boy items I will be sharing are mostly items that Andrew has. If you are like me, you may have some of the items for yourself already in the closet.

The first look is all blue and white items. I am obsessed with blue and white for spring so it is no surprise that I bought Andrew these adorable blue and white pull on pants! He is wearing size 4-6 months and I have to say how AMAZING they are! They roll at the side and fit him perfectly now, but I can also undo the button to make them longer as he grows! The waist is also pretty big and I was able to tie it tighter with the string. They are so stinking cute I could barely handle it. For me, I wore a frilly blue and white skirt (that is a great length) and a white off the shoulder top. You can shop both of our items through the links below.

IMG_1356

This next look is a springy casual look. I know we all are not going anywhere right now, but I have found it fun to put on real clothes for a little throughout the day  (I'm also obsessed with clothes) or to set the table and have an at home date night. For Andrew he has a tan and white striped shirt (too big for him because I bought for him to grow into) and these adorable tan little shorts! These shorts are just incredible because he will grow into them and they come in a pack of THREE! Yes please! For these pictures, I dressed Andrew in an all white set with a onesie underneath. This set was a gift and he looks like a little teacher in it! It is so so cute! I think it's a very gender neutral outfit. My outfit doesn't exactly match him, but it has similar colors so we can call that a match in my book! I love this blouse so much. It is so beautiful with the billowy sleeves and the print. The buttons down the front are so flattering. It looks great with high-waisted jeans but will also be perfect with shorts in the summer. I also found such adorable outfits for little girls to go with my outfit. You can shop all the items right below.

IMG_1376

So this is a look that you see us in almost every single day. I certainly wear this set once a week! I will link some of my favorite tie-dye options below. As for Andrew, his classic daily outfit is a onesie and sweet little joggers or leggings! Here he is wearing the adorable set from the photo above as well.

I hope you enjoyed this post! This was so fun for me to do so I will probably do more in the future as Andrew grows. Thank you for reading!

XO,

Jess 🙂

Spring Beauty Faves

IMG_0524

With a new season comes change and that means a change for my make up bag! I have tried a few new products that I am really loving and am so excited to share them.

Face

I started using a new powder for my face because it was on sale at Ulta and I am so happy I did! It is a pressed powder which means it is less of a mess (I need this because when I do my make up I am typically on the floor next to Andrew while he plays). It works to well and lasts throughout the day. It is by MAC, and I use it under my eyes to set my concealer with a beauty blender sponge. Then, I use a fluffy face brush and rub it all over my face before I apply bronzer and blush. I use the color Light.

Blush

I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Courtney Shields, using this blush and I had to try it! This is a liquid blush so I was super nervous to try it at first. After using it for a few days I began to get the hang of it. It leaves the most beautiful color with a little bit of glimmer. I pump a tiny amount on my finger and then pat it lightly on the apples of my cheek. I do this until it is all blended! A little goes a long way! I wear the color Orgasm.

Lip Liner and Lipstick

I am soo very excited about this combination. I have using this lipstick by Charlotte Tilbury forever- I think almost a year now. The color is my favorite and I love the texture. I wear the color Kim KW. It is worth every penny. I have had the same one forever! It's about time for me to buy a new one. Okay this liner I heard about from my all time favorite blogger Emily Gemma. The liner is KKW Beauty in the color Nude 2.5. It is almost a brownish nude. It is SO GOOD! This with the Kim KW lipstick blends so well and gives your lips a full look.

Eyeshadow

Finally, I want to share my new favorite eye palette. I am OBSESSED with this palette. The colors are so creamy and gorgeous on. There is very little fallout within the palette and the colors last all day. I love to mix matte colors with shimmers and this palette is perfect for it. I should also mention that usually I feel like shimmery colors in palettes don't last very long or don't look as pigmented on, but these actually DO! They are soo beautiful. I want everyone to get this palette. Too faced products are so so good and they are fair priced for what you get. This has been a go to for me each day when getting ready.

Shop any of the items above! What products are you guys using right now and loving? This is a great time to play around with new products! I hope you all have a great weekend. Stay healthy and safe.

XO,

Jess 🙂

Easter Looks

Can you believe it's the last day of March?! That means Easter will be here SO soon! I had high hopes that things would be clearing up by Easter, but it won't be that way. So, even though we are quarantined and will be watching Easter service from home (I have never missed Church on Easter so I am super sad about this), I think it would be a great idea to still celebrate, get dressed up, and make new memories with your family.

There are so many pretty spring dresses out right now and they all seem to be on sale! If you are looking for an Easter dress now is the time to shop. I am linking my favorite dresses and accessories to go with below!

Whether you are a dress person or blouse and pants person all looks can be styled with similar accessories! I am obsessed with the lace up heel trend and think that a white pair will go with everything.

I hope everyone can stay safe and healthy. We will get through this soon!

XO,

Jess 🙂

Sephora Spring Savings Event

The Sephora Spring Savings Event is here! If you are a VIB beauty member, you can go ahead and shop the sale. You will receive 15% off with code: SAVESPRING. If you are a Beauty Insider, you can shop on Thursday (4/7) and save 10% with code: SAVESPRING.

I recently shopped the sale and my order arrived so quickly! I will share what I bought and I will also share my everyday beauty favorites from Sephora.

7

I ordered my favorite Kerastase products, my shampoo and conditioner. I love both of these for help in strengthening my hair while also helping it grow. I also ordered this new shine treatment that I just tried for the first time. It makes my hair feel fresh out of a salon!

As for make up, I repurchased my favorite foundation (there is nothing better) in the color 5 Warm. I love using this pressed powder with the foundation as well. I have repurchased his powder multiple times and will probably never stop! I wear the color Fair. Lastly, I purchased this new eye shadow palette. Tarte makes the best shadows for long wear and pigment in my opinion. This palette is just incredible. There are so many beautiful colors!

What are you planning to grab from the sale?! I'm already planning to shop again and grab a few last minute items! Leave me any of your must haves from Sephora below.

XO,

Jess
