Sweater Dresses

IMG_0575

Sweater dresses are so necessary for your fall wardrobe. My favorite thing about the sweater dresses right now is that you do not have to splurge (unless you want to) to get the styles that you want. So many stores are offering a variety of sweater dresses right now!

I have paired one of my favorites from Forever 21, with a simple black belt and fun snakeskin boots. Right now, I like adding a belt to everything because it accentuates the baby bump! If you are not pregnant, this dress is great without a belt!

Shop this look:

If you are also loving the sweater dress style for fall, see if you can spice it up by adding some of fun fall trends. My favorite trend is printed animal boots. These snakeskin ones are just my actual dream boot. The fit is perfect, the heel height is great, and I bought them on major sale at Belk! You can also dress up sweater dresses with easier items like leather jackets, booties, or fun accessories. Shop some of my favorite sweater dresses linked below!

Neutrals for Fall

Does anyone else feel like it's dangerous to step foot in their Target lately? Each time I go in I feel amazed by all their new arrivals for fall and winter. The colors, the textures, the quality, and price point of their clothing and accessories right now is just great. I am going to share three of my favorite looks with Target right now! All links can be shopped just by clicking on them!

The first look is edgy and girly at the same time. I love this sweater dress so much! The quality of it is great. I like the brown color and the olive the most. This dress would be fun paired with the leather jacket and the combat boots. For an added pop I would add the snakeskin purse and gray beanie.

The next look is softer and more feminine. I love this look for work and would also dress it down for weekends. The sweater skirt feels so good and would look great with a chunky sweater. The snakeskin purse is so beautiful and I love the pop of pink.

I think this last look is my favorite of them all. Again it is edgy and feminine at the same time! In my mind those are the outfits I keep wanting to create- but it doesn't always happen :). But this floral skirt would look fabulous with the silk tank, leather jacket and some fun booties. I think the combat boots are fun and different (also wondering why I got rid of all my combat boots a few years ago- because now they are back!) but the sock booties are also sleek and more professional. Lastly, I think the dark snakeskin purse is great with this outfit because it is different. The dark print will go with a lot and it just stands out so well with this look.

Happy shopping friends! I hope you all enjoyed these fun three fall looks! Shop the post below.

Jackets for Fall

Fall is so close (yet feels so far with this 80 degree weather!) that I can barely wait to wear all my favorite fall pieces. One of my favorite items to spice up a look with in the fall is a jacket. I love faux leather jackets, suede, faux fur, fuzzy jackets, trenches, blazers- everything! To me, a jacket absolutely makes the outfit complete in the fall when its cold enough. I also have to make sure my jacket matches my outfit just right!

Building up your wardrobe is tricky and sometimes adding pieces like jackets can seem like the last thing you want to do. I try my best to find quality and timeless pieces that will go from year to year. I also try to buy jackets in the off season- they always go on sale! Some of my favorite jacket brands are BLANKNYC Denim, Topshop, and Forever 21 (very affordable and on trend). I saved up and bought my first BLANKNYC Denim Moto jacket last year and it was one of my favorite purchases- of all time. I have worn it endlessly! I will link the one I have here.

One of my favorite ways to style a jacket for fall is with a mini dress or skirt and sweater combo. The jacket will help keep you warm and make your whole outfit look put together. If you are shopping for new jackets for fall, my advice would be to have at least one faux leather jacket- in a neutral color either grey or black, and one suede one in a different color. With two jackets- leather and suede- you can create endless outfits and stay warm! I will link some of my favorites below. Many are on sale so shop fast- these do sell out quick :)!

I hope everyone is having the best long holiday weekend. This year, we got off Friday and Monday and I have been loving every bit of this long weekend! I have had time to browse so many of the great sales going on right now and have rounded up some of my favorites. Many of the retailers are hosting site wide sales which includes new arrivals for fall! Time to stock up!

The first retailer I have been shopping this weekend is Red Dress Boutique. First of all, they have the cutest pieces all the time, but this weekend, the whole site is on sale with code OMG20. Shop my favorites below. Everything I have picked out can be worn multiple ways and is so on trend for fall. Want it all! Shop quick because items from Red Dress do sell out quickly.

The next retailer running a great sale is one of my all time favorites, Forever 21 of course! They have so so many amazing new arrivals. I have picked out some of my favorites, but be sure to check out the site on your own because I could have gone on forever. Everything is 30% off with the code LABORSLAY. And you will be slayin in all of these chic looks :). Shop the pieces below!

Nordstrom is also having a great sale that goes until September 8th. Many of the items that are marked down in the sale are items from the Nsale in August! I was so excited to see that some items prices have gone back down. This sale includes a lot you can buy now for fall and winter, but it also has spring and summer items you can buy for next year or for any trips you have coming up. Shop the items below!

Those are my favorite sales for now. I will be sure to update and add more if something really stands out to me. Shop fast if you see things you like! Enjoy your laborless Monday 🙂

Currently Craving: All things Fall…

Currently Craving
Currently Craving (2)

My favorite season is finally approaching and I have been READY! Who else loves fall? I have been carefully selecting items for my closet that I can wear multiple ways throughout the fall and then also carry me into the winter months. This year in particular I am really loving all things black, tan, cream, cognac, white, and gray. Keeping it all super neutral. I recently hopped on to Forever 21's website and found a ton of great items that can be worn many different ways for all great prices. I ordered a few and will share with you the fit as soon as they arrive!

When I am shopping with Forever 21 and I am ready to purchase I look at each item and picture how I can exactly wear that item in more ways than one! That way I feel my purchase is validated and it won't go to waste in my closet. I am especially picky over anything I buy right now because I am pregnant, and I want to be sure the items can stretch and last through different stages!

One of my favorite pieces I found is the camel colored midi dress that I plan to wear with a black sleeveless blazer, cardigans, and sweaters throughout the fall. I know this dress will be such  a versatile piece in my closet and the best part is- this color goes great with both snakeskin shoes and leopard print shoes :)! That's a win for me. I am also super excited to try out the cabby hat trend with this super cute one that I plan to pair with this pretty plaid scarf. This scarf will go with all my jackets, cardigans, and sweaters!

You can shop the links below for all of my favorites from my recent Forever 21 finds. Be on the lookout for outfit posts coming soon with some of these items!

I’m Pregnant! First Trimester Update

This blog post is very different than any of my others because it has nothing relating to fashion or beauty :). It is just a life update! I plan on doing these for each trimester!

Finding out we were pregnant was the best surprise ever. Let me start off this blog post by saying how grateful we are that it happened how it did for us. My heart goes out to anyone who is trying to conceive and has not been able to yet. I know that in God's plan it will happen for you.

We first found out we were pregnant on the Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend! It was the end of the school year, and naturally I was complaining about being tired at school and just very hungry- I thought it was about to be my time of the month and I was working out a lot at the time. One of my teammates, pulled me aside and said ,"You know, you've been complaining about hunger and being tired. Could there be a bun in the oven?" She was totally joking at the time and I responded by saying oh no way, but could not stop thinking about it all day. I texted Tyler the story and rushed home after school and to my luck had a pregnancy test. I took it right away and to my SURPRISE it displayed the FAINTEST positive ever. I was shocked and could not stop staring at it! I sent it to Tyler, who was in a faculty meeting at the time (oops), and said is this real?! He said he couldn't see much, but we would check when we got home. When he got home, he saw exactly what I was seeing. I then planned to take a test Friday morning, when my hormones were higher. Sure enough, at 5 am, I had another positive- this time more CLEAR! We were so excited. I could hardly get through the day at school because I couldn't stop thinking about it! Finally, to confirm I took one more test on Monday that said "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant" and it came out as pregnant! We knew right then and there this was happening and we were elated.

When I reflect back on the first trimester, I truly can't believe how fast it went. For me, it was a little difficult, however I am so so lucky that I did not experience morning sickness. My symptoms included being exhausted and nauseous constantly. From weeks five through about week 11, I would feel sick just from moving from about 10 am to 4-5pm each day. My mom and Tyler are fantastic and always made sure I was snacking on crackers or something at all times (this really helped)! One of my friends also told me to start taking my prenatals at NIGHT instead of the morning and this helped significantly! It was like I faced any of the nausea while I was asleep and had minimal issues during the day! I was also so lucky that I am a teacher and was out for the summer and only had three weeks of summer school to work. Everyday after summer school I would come home and sleep for almost 2 hours (might as well get it in now while I can)!

The fist time we got to see the baby was so emotional- but the happiest emotional feeling you can imagine. It was at 9 weeks and one of the best days to date for me. Seeing the baby pop up on the screen during the ultrasound was incredible- the baby was SO small! Our doctor referred to it as a "Teddy Graham Baby" and she couldn't be more right, because the baby looked just like that! Once the heartbeat came through I simply couldn't believe it. I started crying right away and couldn't get over the speed! Tyler recorded all of it and I watch it all the time.

We are now 15 weeks and can't stop feeling grateful. My body is changing so fast and while at times that can be hard (clothing wise), it is amazing to realize what our bodies can do. So far the beginning of the second trimester has been wonderful and we pray that it continues going well!

Thank you so much for reading. Next post will be all fashion related 🙂

Ride or Die Beauty Faves

When it comes to make-up, I feel like I am super happy with my product line ups. For years I have been trying new items, finding items that work and don't work, and finally finding my absolute favorite products that really work! I am still open to trying out new items- I mean seriously new products are released all the time and I love try all the new! But, the products that I am sharing are my true ride or die products that I use each day and have been for months. I am so passionate about these products! I hope through this post you can find something new that works for you.

1. Primer

Primer is so so so important for your make-up routine. It sets the tone for how all of your make-up will set throughout the day. I have tried MANY primers, all which I love. However, I have found a primer that is better than all the rest. I mean it. It keeps my skin smooth, oil free, and fresh looking all day. This Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer is the best- and worth every penny. I personally started with the mini size and it lasted me about three months. So if you are hesitant, then try the mini size. You will fall in love.

2. Foundation

I have raved about my favorite foundation forever and I am so happy to hear that people are finally starting to use it! I use the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte foundation in the color 180. I love this foundation because it truly works well through all seasons. It holds up on hot humid days and looks great in the dry winter months. I have been using this foundation for over a year now and do not plan on switching it up! For me its great because I have scars from years of acne and this covers it so well without looking cakey. If you like full coverage foundation, try this one!

3. Concealer

My love for Fenty Beauty continues when it comes to concealer. I have recently traded out my Tarte Shape Tape (which I still do love), for the Fenty Beauty Concealer. It goes on SO smooth and does not crease at all! I have also noticed that it helps cover my dark circles and lasts all day. I wear color 185.

4. Setting Powder

When it comes to setting powder, I am super picky. I have tried so many different ones. For me, I need something that keeps my skin looking fresh all day, keeps my make up in place, and helps brighten my under eyes. I first use the Fenty Beauty Instant Retouch Setting Powder in the color Lavender. I use a damp beauty blender and dab this under my eyes and let it set for a few minutes. Next, all over my face I use the Too Faced Peach Blur Translucent Smoothing Finishing Powder. I have found that the combination of these two work perfectly!

5. Brows and Eyes

For my eyebrows I always use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in the color Taupe. Then, after filling in my brows, I go through the brow gel that holds those bad boys down all day! So necessary! Then, I use the Mac Paint Pot in the color, Painterly. I refuse to try any other eye primer- my girlfriend in college gave me one of these (because she had extra and taught me all about make up!)- and I haven't stopped using them since. This is necessary if you want your eyeshadow to last all day and look creaseless! After my eyes are primed, I use my all time favorite (most days) Too Faced Natural Eyes palette. Then, I use my favorite eyeliner, that is drugstore and so affordable! I use the Maybelline Curvitude liquid liner. The liner is followed by my favorite lash line up- Loreal Voluminous Primer, It Cosmetics Superhero mascara, and finally Lancome Monsieur Big mascara.

6. Bronzer, Blush, Highlight

For Bronzer, I love anything by Becca or Nars. Both have colors that are pigmented and last all day on your face. I switch off all the time between two of my favorite palettes. Both of the ones I use are older and I can't find the links. However, I will link two similar ones! Here is one from Nars. Here is a Becca Bronzer that is great as well. I personally like palettes that have bronzer and blush all in one, and this one has just that! It's super similar to the one I have. This one also has highlighter in it. If you are someone who likes highlighter, my favorite is the Becca Champagne Pop highlighter.

7. Last Steps: Setting Spray and Lip

To finish up my make-up routine, I always end with the Morphe Setting Spray- this stuff is amazing! As for lips, I start by lining my lips with the Marc Jacobs lip liner in the color Prim(rose). After lining, I go over my lips in the NYX Lip Lingerie in the color Babydoll. This color looks much darker in the bottle, but is BEAUTIFUL! Finally, if I want a glossy look I top it with the Buxom Plumping Lip Polish in the color White Russian.

Whew! If You made it to the end- congrats- I know that was a lot of information! I hope some of this information is useful. These are my definite favorites and I feel passionate about them. Shop all the items below!

Jess

Packing for my Vacation

I am finally beginning to count down the days until our annual beach vacation. We leave in August and truly it could not come soon enough! When I realized the trip was a month away, I quickly thought- time to figure out my outfits! For this trip I am really focusing on finding some cute swimsuit outfits to wear to the beach. I tried out a new online store, Shein, and I was pleasantly pleased with my order! Not to mention my order arrived super fast which was so surprising to me. I will share some of my favorites that I found.

IMG_5989

/1/2/3/4/5/6/

When I started browsing the site, I knew I wanted to go for more neutral looks whether they be black or white swimsuits. That way, the swimsuit itself can go with more cover ups and accessories. I ordered the white strapless swimsuit to wear with this gorgeous tan and white polka dot cover up! They look SO good together. The cover up really elevates the swim look to a more chic look. I also have already worn the cover up out to dinner with an all white outfit and I loved it. I also ordered this bag and the adorable beach earrings- my favorites being the starfish earrings! It looks like the gold I ordered is sold out, but here is another great pair (and an even better price)!

Along with  neutral white looks for the beach, I found some beautiful black and leopard print options. I ended up ordering this white and leopard print swimsuit and I love it! It is more cheeky in the back than the white one I ordered, but I still think it works. This would be perfect if you have a honeymoon coming up, bachelorette trip, or trip to Vegas! I also really love this black two piece with the high waist and I am contemplating ordering it! I think the one shoulder look gives it a classy and chic look.

IMG_5990

/7/8/9/

When you are shopping with Shein, always be sure to read the reviews! I did that for everything I ordered and was so satisfied with what I recieved. In both of the swimsuits, I ordered a large which is generally my size in swimsuits. Happy Shopping!

Jess

Fun Fourth of July Outfits

How is it possible June is almost over!? Is it just me or did this month fly by? With that being said, July 4th is days away and I cannot wait. July 4th has to be one of my top three favorite holidays! It is such a fun day with powerful meaning and it's in the summertime. Every Fourth of July we make sure to have fun plans and I of course have an outfit planned ahead of time! What are you planning on doing for the fourth? I can't wait to see all the fun pictures from cookouts, pool parties, fireworks, baseball games, and all the outfits that come with it.

If you are still looking for something to wear for the fourth, you still have time! There are some super cute options out there. I have rounded up some of my favorite affordable pieces that can all be worn more than once and multiple ways. The first five items I have to share are from one of my favorite retailers- Forever 21 (obviously).

IMG_5766

I wanted to find looks for the Fourth that can be worn more than one time. One of my favorite pieces here are these amazing distressed jeans.

These jeans are under $30 and can be worn this summer and into the fall. The color of them is great! I thinK the star hoops would be so fun with the white blouse and red and white striped skirt! I would pair that outfit with wedges or sneakers.

Shop these looks here!

//one//two//three//four//five//

IMG_5773

The next five items are from Vestique, which is another one of my favorite retailers. My favorite thing about the items I picked out from Vestique are not only affordable, but they are all great pieces you can add to your summer wardrobe. The white eyelet romper (which actually looks like a dress) is exactly what I plan on wearing for the Fourth! I love this paired with colorful shoes or everyday wedges like these ones. I also love this blue and white striped skirt with a white blouse or fun graphic t-shirt. I am sure there are some adorable graphic t-shirts that are American themed for the fourth!

Shop these looks here and be sure to use my code- JESSWEBB10 at checkout for 10% off your purchase!

//six//seven//eight//nine//ten//

I hope you have a fantastic weekend and find the perfect outfit you're looking for for the Fourth! Happy Shopping!

Jess
